Occupational Choking Hazards

This story is an older piece I wrote as a New Year's resolution, as an attempt to express to others how and why victims of childhood sexual abuse convince ourselves that we are consenting active partners of destructive relationships.  I feel, as ever, that there needs to be honest and self-aware interactions with the media we create, so as to protect and aid other victims and attempt to stop further victimization.  Personal responsibility is vital.  Alongside that, however, we need narratives in the thick of abuse - in the thick of trauma that seems it could never end.  It is unpleasant.  We cannot live without our reality.  We must protect ourselves and each other.
